Allegiant Air announced today that it is acquiring nine used Airbus A-320′s from Iberia.
The airline’s press release indicates these aircraft are for growth. However, A-320′s do seem to be a likely replacement for the older MD-80′s. So don’t be surprised if we hear of additional purchases of this type, and that they’ll show up at Peoria someday.
Seven planes will be delivered in 2013, and two in 2014. The first of these will be placed into service during 3rd quarter 2013.
