Acccording to the Watertown Daily, the Business Development Corporation for a Greater Massena is hoping for a grant to construct a rail spur into the village’s industrial park from a nearby CSX Transportation mainline. BNSF’s M-GALBRC (Manifest, Galesburg to Belt Railway of Chicago/Clearing Yard) derailed near Wyanet on Saturday, temporarily closing the Mendota Subdivision between Galesburg and Eola.
