PEORIA – Another Toledo Peoria & Western Railway wind turbine components train, presumably the second carrying 130′ blades to pass through the area, rolled right through the Tazewell & Peoria Railroad’s Farm Creek through truss bridge without any problems Friday evening.

As you may recall, the first one, on May 1, had to be broken into two sections after the first set of blade cars made it through the bridge, but the next set did not. The problem was solved by the next day and all went well after that.

Today’s train was shorter than the earlier train (37 vs. 53 cars), and attracted no media coverage. As with the tower sections, the blades are offloaded from an ocean-going vessel at the Port of Vancouver, Washington and travel the Union Pacific Railroad to Sommer (south of Bartonville) where they’re given (”interchanged” in railroad parlance) to the TP&W.
