Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info. I figured the barrier was up for some nearby maintenance work. That's why I placed it under "Humor" category.

This is due to the major water main break along the Kellar right of way near the Teton Lane crossing that occurred Saturday, possible concern ref a washout or soft ground & a desire that no trains run over it until it's checked out. There's also a similar barrier on south side of the Pioneer Pkwy crossing.
Nothing conspiratorial here, David.

Franklin, You can see "C. O. P." on the barricade at left. It stands for "City of Peoria." The post is humor and not serious.

Note the first of three categories in which I placed this post is "Humor." Not sure this is a serious attempt to do away with the tracks. Instead, it's probably someone's idea of a joke.

Is there something that says the city did it? Couldn't it have been one of the railroad companies. Possibly warning crews not to pass this spot. I remember last month, the CIRY crew had to wait a day (when they ran the length of the line) because there was a broken rail near Pioneer Park. Maybe the same thing happened here.
