The Pekin Daily Times reported February 6 that Midwest Generation LLC is in the beginning stages of an upgrade which will result in the construction of a loop track. The existing track serving the plant will be removed for construction of a new air quality control system. The project, according to the Times, will require 200 workers during the first and fourth years, and 850 workers during the second and third years.
This Public Notice details improvements required to support the five-year project. An earlier Public Notice detailed the construction of the loop track (”rail spur”).
