PEORIA – Atlantic Southeast Airlines dba Delta Connection, will resume a second daily roundtrip between Peoria and Atlanta on March 2. That’s according to schedules on the Delta Air Lines website at www.delta.com. Presently, Flight 5403 arrives at 9:56pm, leaving the next morning at 5:45 as Flight 5477.
On March 2, Flight 5403 will arrive at 9:25am. Flight 5477 will leave at 9:50am. Also beginning on that date, Flight 5415 arrives at 3:34pm, departing as Flight 5413 at 4:00pm. All schedules will be operated by 40-seat Canadair Regional Jets.
Sometime in 2008, probably in the fall, service was cut from two to one daily roundtrip. The restoration of a second roundtrip is good news for Peoria travelers, though the lack of an early morning departure to Atlanta and evening arrival from Atlanta may prove inconvenient for some business travelers.
UPDATE: The Journal Star is now reporting this, though as an aside about the record number of passengers that used the local airport in 2008. (More on this Wednesday).
