Airport to lose Director to Virginia

It had to happen sooner or later. Metropolitan Airport Authority of Peoria director Ken Spirito is taking the helm of Peninsula Airport Commission, which runs the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport in Virginia. Hanna City Trail may happen, some Kellar news

The Surface Transportation Board decided Thursday, November 13, to reopen the Union Pacific’s petition to abandon its unused Elm Industrial Lead, which runs between Peoria and Middle Grove, and terminate the Offer of Financial Assistance (OFA) process. DHL Ending US Domestic Operation; Peoria may benefit

DHL has announced that it will cease its U. S. domestic parcel shipping business by January 30. As a result, contractor ABX Air will discontinue flying DC-9’s into Bloomington-Normal’s Central Illinois Regional Airport.

MGP Ingredients of Illinois to close wheat gluten plant

MGP Ingredients will lay off 40 employees when it closes its Pekin wheat gluten plant. Distillery operations will remain, though production of fuel-grade alcohol will be reduced according to this Pekin Daily times article.
